John is the nation's leading expert in protecting inventions in the fields of amorphous alloys and nanotechnology. He was instrumental in developing the LiquidMetal Technologies IP portfolio licensed by Apple and currently works with Glassimetal Technologies, a Caltech spinout that is commercializing the next generation of amorphous alloy technologies.
John has a particular interest and expertise in working to protect inventions developed within the academic environment and with startups. John's PhD in Chemistry gives him a personal familiarity with the realities of academic research that enables him to work closely and easily with academic inventors, as well as with their counterparts in their respective technology transfer offices. John has helped many companies successfully bring their technology from the research bench to the consumer.
John specializes in developing strategic intellectual property counsel for clients in a variety of technical fields, including novel materials, nanotechnology, optics, biotechnology, oil tools, and medical devices. John advises clients on a wide range of patent, trademark, copyright, licensing and enforcement matters.
